Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb. beef sirloin steak or beef of choice cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp chili paste
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Cut beef into bite-sized pieces
  • In a medium bowl mix 4 cloves of minced garlic, 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tbsp honey, and 1 tbsp chili paste in a bowl. Add the beef to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the marinade. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  • When ready to cook, drizzle olive oil in a cast iron skillet or frying pan and preheat over medium-high heat. Make sure your pan is good and hot! Remove the beef from the marinade and discard the excess marinade.
  • Cook the meat for 2-3 minutes per side or until cooked to your desired level of doneness. Serve the sweet and spicy steak bites over hot rice, noodles, or as an appetizer.

Notes

  1. Use tongs to add the marinated pieces to the skillet, shaking off any excess marinade before adding them to the pan.
  2. Cook the steak pieces for 2-3 minutes per side or until they develop a dark crust and are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  3. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan, which can cause the beef to steam instead of sear.
