Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • salt & pepper
  • ½ cup Thousand Island dressing
  • 5 pita pockets cut in 1/2
  • 2 cups lettuce shredded
  • 1 cup tomatoes diced
  • 1 cup pickles diced

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and onion Stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper. Once the beef is browned and the onions are soft, drain excess grease.
  • Stir in Thousand Island dressing.
  • The prepared beef mixture can then be transferred to a crockpot and kept warm on the low setting.
  • Shred lettuce, dice tomatoes, pickles and any other toppings you desire!
  • The pita pockets can be warmed in the oven or microwave, though this step is optional.
