I’m making these for 4th of July, so I am only using red and blue Jello. You can use any color (flavor) combination. The cups used in this recipe are 5oz. Oui glass yogurt cups. You can use any size glass or disposable clear cups. Depending on the size of cups you use you will want to adjust your layers. I got 12 – 5oz. cups from this recipe.
Ingredients Needed:
- 4 boxes Jello (3oz.) (2Red & 2Blue)
- 2 packets Unflavored gelatin (Knox gelatin)
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- Water
- Whipped topping and sprinkles (for topping)
- Cups glass or disposable plastic
Making Jello Cups:
Clear a space in your fridge. I find it easiest to make these on a baking pan or cookie sheet for easy transport to the fridge.
- Prepare the Red Jello Layer:
- In a small bowl mix red jello with 1 cup boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.
- Let the mixture cool slightly, then pour a layer into cups.
- Place the cups in the refrigerator to set.
- While the Red layer is Chilling Make the White Condensed Milk Layer:
- In another bowl, mix 2 packets unflavored gelatin with 2 cups hot water until smooth and add 1 can sweet and condensed milk. (This will be enough for all 12 of your cups. Let it sit on the counter, if it begins to set you can sit the bowl in a little warm water.)
- Allow the mixture to cool.
- Pour a thin layer gently over the set blue Jello layer in the cups.
- Return the cups to the refrigerator to set the white layer.
- While the White layer is Chilling Make the Blue Jello Layer:
- Follow the same steps as the red Jello layer using the blue Jello powder. Let cool.
- Carefully pour the cooled red Jello mixture over the set white condensed milk layer in the cups.
- Refrigerate.
- Repeat these steps again.
Tips:
Make sure each layer is cool before pouring onto each layer. If it is too warm it will melt previous layer!
Let each layer set completely otherwise the colors will bleed together.
Allow at least 15 minutes for each layer to firm up.
Serving:
Just before serving, top the layered Jello with a dollop of whipped topping and a sprinkle of festive colored sprinkles. The combination of cool, creamy layers with the fruity Jello is sure to be a hit at your next gathering.
So, next time you’re planning a special event, consider whipping up this visually stunning and delicious layered Jello dessert. It’s a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, and your guests will be thoroughly impressed by your creativity. Cheers to creating unforgettable moments with delightful treats!
