Making the Lemon Glaze

In a saucepan, combine the sugar, egg, flour, water and lemon juice. Cook stirring occasionally, until it thickens. Once it thickens stir in the zest of one lemon, vanilla, and butter. After a good mix, pop it in the refrigerator to chill. That glaze is the star of the show, and you won’t be able to resist sneaking a taste!

This Lemon Glazed Fruit Salad is versatile and can grace your table on many occasions. But how do you ensure it remains as fresh and tempting as when you first made it?

Serving Time: Ideally, serve your Lemon Glazed Fruit Salad within a few hours of preparing it. The fruits will be at their peak freshness. It’s the ideal side dish for holiday meals, picnics, or even a casual family brunch.

Storage: If you find yourself with leftovers, worry not! Store the salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It can last for up to 2-3 days. Just be prepared for the fruit to release some juice over time, which can dilute the glaze slightly. Still delicious, though!

Add More Fruits: Don’t hesitate to get creative and experiment with other fruits. Blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, and pineapple make wonderful additions. The glaze is like a blank canvas, ready to embrace any fruit you throw its way.
