How to Make Hamburg Noodle Casserole

Brown the ground beef and onion in a large skillet, then drain off any excess fat and set it aside.

While the beef is cooking, prepare the noodles or pasta according to the package directions, then drain them.

In a small bowl, whisk together the creamed soup and milk.

Grease a 2-quart baking dish, and add the cooked noodles, cooked ground beef, and peas. Pour the creamed soup mixture over the top and stir everything together.

Sprinkle bread crumbs over the top and bake the dish for 30 minutes until it’s golden and bubbly. Enjoy!

Serve with hearty bread, green salad, or roasted vegetables on the side.

Variations

This super-flexible hamburger casserole recipe makes it a breeze to mix things up to suit your tastes and dietary needs. Instead of frozen peas, you can toss in some chopped broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, or kale for an extra boost of nutrition and fiber. And when it comes to cheese, feel free to play around with different kinds like cheddar, mozzarella, Swiss, or pepper jack to give your casserole a whole new flavor.

You can even swap out the noodles in this hamburg noodle casserole for whole wheat, gluten-free, or veggie-based options to add some color and extra nutrients. If you feel like changing things up, try using ground turkey, chicken, or pork instead of beef. And don’t forget, you can switch out the cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup for other creamy soups to keep things interesting. With so many possibilities, this easy-to-make casserole is perfect for anyone looking for a quick, easy dinner with ingredients you probably have in your pantry!

Tips for Success

To make this hamburg noodle casserole recipe even easier, you can cook the ground beef ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator or freezer until you’re ready to make the casserole. Double the recipe and freeze the leftovers for another meal or for a quick lunch or snack. Freeze in individual containers for a grab ‘n go lunch for work!
